Deep Well - 120'

new here, so bear with me please. well is 2", steel pipe. tank is Well-Rite, bladder. iturned on my water, nothing. went out to well pump. breaker fine. pump was running continuous. guage said 100psi.

turned off breaker. seen points were burned very bad. i replaced the switch with 30-50 switch. turned on power, and same thing. turned power off. removed prime plug, and it was full of water.

checked valve on tank, read 14 psi. got cold, as it is 2 degrees out. turned on heater in pump shed, and came inside for night.

will check more in morning. any advice , suggestions much appreciated. hope i posted enough info. thanks, Linda G.

you either have a frozen line to the house, or possible frozen fitting to pressure guage not allowing the pressure switch to activate properly. my guess is line to the house since the pump was running. hopefully won't have split the line.

when i plug the well in, it is still running continuous. i let it run about 1 minute , while watching the points, then unplug it. the points stay togeather, and the pressure on guage drops to 60 psi, then bleeds down to 35 in about 2 minutes.???

i just went and got a brand new pressure switch ( 30-50 ), i'll try that , and post back again.
