Air compressor air problem

Have a 30 gallon air compressor. Will build up to 120 pounds with no problem. Coming out of the tank it will shut high pressure for two to three seconds and then drop to hardly no pressor. The pressure will not run a HVLP spray gun which it did at one time. Have drain tank. Air compressor is around 1 year old from harbor freight. Hope someone can help or I will have to buy another

Thanks
Derick

Derick, welcome to the forums! It sounds as if your outlet pressure device had gone south. The diaphragm may be damaged, which will cause a shut down of air once it is excited. What brand and model compressor is it? It would help for us to know, so we can make recommendations.

Sorry first time using a forum. Thanks for replying.

The air compressor is a cheap Central Pneumatic 21 Gallon with a 3 hp motor from Harbor freight. Is the outlet pressure device the one that can be ajusted to control air pressure in the line?

If so I have already removed that part. Have shut off valvue running strait into the on/off control of the compressor. Have hook on to valvue and have same issue as when the air line is hooked on.

I know I'm not dealing with a high dollar compressor but hate to buy another one so quickly.

Thank you for your help.
