Heater fan wont shut off!!! :(
My central a/c / heating fan wont shut off it constantly runs even after a heating cycle ends. The unit was off and the air will still blow warm air on the inside of the house.
Its not in emergency heat mode its usually in HEAT mode but even with the system switch set to "OFF" and the fan switch set to "AUTO" on the tstat it will still blow air even with the unit outside shut down.
Is the thermostat broken or is it a wiring / eletrical problem? A few days back we had a power outage but it was a very short one for 1-3 minutes. The unit outside seems to work fine but its a fan that blows warm air through the vents that wont shut off. I just wanted to see if anyone can help me with it before i just go n call someone out to fix it. I wanted to save myself some money. But i guess if i have to call someone I will.
I had to shut it off for now from the circuit breaker so it wouldnt keep running it seems like the temp kept going up with just the fan running but it was set at 67° F.
I have a T8411R Honeywell thermostat and its a goodman split system the units are only about 3 years old and are still under a limited 5 year warranty.
I think the guys who first installed the system didn't do a very good job on the wiring but im not sure if thats what it is. ;_;
If someone has a pic or info on what to do to fix this on how the wiring is suppose to be behind the thermostat that would be great.
[Edit] I found this on google http://customer.honeywell.com/Techli...0s/69-1037.pdf
this how the wiring should be on it and on mine it looks more of a mess (wires sticking out a bit) but wired to the right places just messy i'll post a pic if i can find me camera.... (you need adobe pdf reader to open that document)
If anyone has helpful info on this please post it! thanks!

The pic you are looking at below is the wires behind the thermostat. Its a little diffrent then from the one shown in the pdf...its probably set that way for a reason. I'm no eletrical expert but i can tell you that is a mess the way they put it.
I took this photo to ms paint for a second to label the letters with text letters they were too blurry to actually read them.
If anyone has any info on how to fix the problem in my first post please go ahead and explain what i can do.

I havent tried that yet do you mean make it so the wire does not touch the metal part completely? then turn it back on with the thermostat in? Thats not gonna blow nothing is it?
Thanks again for replying at least now I know im not talking to myself. lol!

ok well heres a few pics im still not sure which wires to dissconnect so i havent done anything yet.
[edit] ack ur offline ;_; guess i can wait or come back tommorrow its too late to be doing it now anyway its 11:32pm now(est). If anyone else has any ideas while im offline please post them! i'll check back later.
This is a few pics of the air handeler. There are screws on one of the pannels that i havent tried taking off yet. Those white pipes go to the water heater/tank.. am i looking at the right thing? (click on thumbnail for full pic.)
And here is the pannel in the a/c unit outside there was no wire in there labeled "g", but what intrested me was that jumper you see in the a/c pannel pics it is labeled "test" "03" "06" "09" is that the delay time for some type of fan?
Last time i was here I was under the name Mranderson with a blown capacitor that you guys helped me figure out and fix and saved me lots of money it only cost me 8 bucks to fix. And i thank you for that! I didnt like that name much so i used this name instead.
I know the pics arent great its hard to try to take the photos at the angle i had to get into. if you would like anymore pics please request them, i'll be glad to post them.

I should of posted back that I was going to bed... I was BEAT.. been a busy 4 days with family for Christmas.
So back down to the air handler, the wires should be going into the right hand side of the unit.. Look for the small brown (Sometimes white) low voltage wire going into the air handler, and inside it should be wire nuted or screwed into a termail G.
If it stops, then you may have a short in the wire between the air handler's and t-stat.
If it still runs, it may be the relay or board at the air handler.
The outdoor unit has nothing to do with the blower running.
One last request, what is the model # for both indoor and out door unit, and t-stat?
I am off to work, will be working till 4.

Sorry about that i did not know that you were tired .... I know you are volunteering on this forum to help others and i do appreciate your help very much.. thank you for helping me as far as you have. I also found this operation book in the folder where the warranty was i scanned it and here it is. (after this whole mess is fixed all pics will be removed from the hosting site.)
Tstat model for both upstairs and downstairs is:
Honeywell T8441R Non programmable digital thermostat
Smaller heat pump #1 Model Number is: CPLE18-1A
(For the one downstairs)
Heat Pump #2 Model number is: CPLE24-1A
(For upstairs that is working properly)
The Model Number for the air handler under the crawlspace is: AR18-1
Oh yeah those white pipes are just the overflow pipes i should have known that they arent connected to the water heater at all. ;_;
There is a pullout switch box next to the air handler should I pull that before attempting to work on it or i dont need too since i shut off the power to the downstairs heat itself. sorry if i ask stupid questions im no expert at this stuff obviously but that why i came here first to ask the pros like yourself. =]
I have another question how come we cant edit our posts again after a cirten amount of time? Other forums let you edit posts indefinately. ;_;
If worse comes to worse if i can't figure the problem out myself then i'll have someone come out to fix it..what would be a good price for this type of job im just wondering..it shouldn't be too much if its just a small electrical problem.

The fan randomly started working again so i didn't mess with it but then the problem came back. Every time ONLY when the AUX heat turns on the air handler buzzes i forgot to mention that.
Sorry that i haven't replied in such a long time I've been away from home and haven't had time to fix this.
I called a few places they said the same thing a bad fan relay. how much do these generally cost to replace so i can get a good price on them..

Heres one site I found with replacement parts... Just wondering if their prices are good or not.
