Honeywell 360A, Heatwave Horizontal Furnace, Lennox SignatureStat
Hello,
I have installed a Honeywell 360A on my furnace. I installed the sail switch and humidistat. I currently have them wired according to the instructions. The humidifer works. However, if I set the humidistat above 35%, it will not turn off when the heat turns off - It stays on indefintely. Here is my question:
1) I no longer want to use the honeywell humidistat.
2) I purchased a Lennox SignatureStat and would like it to control my furnace and humidifier (there is no central A/C).
I am looking for the procedure needed to hook all of this up properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here are my current specs:
Current t-stat is a honeywell and has two wires attached: R & W.
Furnace has 3 wires attached: R, W & C
Here are a few images of the specs directly from the Furnace:
Thanks!
Mike

SignatureStat Model 81M27
Hi and thanks for getting back to me. The model of my SignatureStat is 81M27. I have pulled a new set of wire, 18-5. Since yesterday, I have everything connected and working, except for the humidifier. The t-stat is reading 41% humidity, but is set for 45%. I have the t-stat set to humidify only when there is a call for heat. When the heat goes on and I check the humidifier, there is no action. Here is my current wiring setup and two questions:
1) Do I have the sail switch wires backwards?
2) also/or, is there a way to eliminate the sail switch entirely? Since I am only using the humidifier when there is a call for heat, is there a way to connect the wires, bypassing the sail switch, and have the humidifier turn on?
Thanks for your help! - Mike

Yikes!
You may of fried the humidifier with this... The 360 has it own built in Transfromer, and you got two hot wires touching each other...
I am guessing the t-stat's H provies 24 volts?
Undo the wire now... and just touch the two yellow wires at the humidfier and see if it runs. If it don't run, the transformer is fried.

Not fried
Ok, I undid the wires and touched the two yellows together; it still works and turns on.
So what would the next step be? I talked to someone at Lennox and she forwarded me directions on how the Lennox humidifier is installed. She knew that my humidifier is a Honeywell but thought that the wiring below should work for my applications also. It looks like they used a relay. is that what I should do?
I found this relay online, will it work?

Nope, that relay is not going to work with the Lennox t-stat.
The Honeywell R8222 Relay is what you need.
The A50 relay, is what you needed with the Honeywell humidistat that you had the first time around.
Why did you go with the Lennox T-stat? Hope you didn't pay dearly for that t-stat..

thanks
I went with the Lennox because I found it cheap on craigslist. What thermostat would you recommend? Is there a better one that would work with my setup? Next year I will have central ac installed with a dehumidifier.
As for the relay, honeywell said the 360a will draw .7 amps so that should work. Thanks for your help! How is it wired?

Which one?
Ok, for now, I guess I'll stick it out with the Lennox T-stat. As for the relay, I did a search to buy it and 4 versions of R8222 came up. Do you know which one I need?
R8222B1067 TRADELINE. SPDT, DOUBLE QC COIL.
R8222D1014 R8222D-1014 SWITCHING RELAY
R8222N1011 TRADELINE. DOUBLE Q/C COIL TERM.
R8222V1003 TRADELINE. DPDT 24V AC DOUBLE Q/C COIL TERM.
I found the info above here at this online store where I was going to buy it from:

Thanks again for your help!

Got it
I got the relay.. So how do I wire this thing with my current setup? This will eliminate the need for the sail switch, correct? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you,
Mike

Ok,
Take the wire that is on H at t-stat. and put it on one of the coil side post (With the zig zag drawn on it). On the other post on the coil, take that to C on the furnace.
Take one of the yellow wire from humidifier to post on the relay #1. other yellow wire on post #3.

It Works!
Thanks for your help! My house is at 42% humidt right now. Before it was at 22%.
I actually have the the tstat 'C' connected to the coil instead of the furnace 'C'. - is that OK?'
Thanks again!
Mike
