master bathroom

My master bathroom plumbing gets clogged about once every 6 months. I believe my house has shifted which has cracked the pipe so it gets clogged easily. I have tried to find the clean out vaulve outside my house with no luck. If it is under the slab would i fix the slab first the do the piping. just trying to figure out my process. also any hints on finding my clean out would be helpful. plumbers not so helpful when they come out.

If the main drain is clogged outside, wouldn't more than one bathroom be affected? What makes you think that the house shifted? My sister had an outside main drain problem. Roots from a tree killed the pipe. Do you have any trees there?

If that's the case, I would try to expose the pipe & find the exact spot. You could remove the toilet & send a snake through first as a long shot. Get a heavy duty snake.

That doesn't compute, with a broken line you would have a problem with ALL your drains.

Unless you are willing to pay plumbers to look for your c.o. they are not going to find it for free.

You c.o. should be close to the house where the sewer comes out, but it could have been installed too low and it now is covered up. It's also possible that one wasn't put in.

If your c.o. is under the slab wouldn't make any sense at all.

From the information I'm getting from your post leaves me to say that you have to start in your master bath area and look for the problem there.

BTY Do you have a habit of putting things down your toilet that don't belong there, like paper towels, hand wipes, tampons etc., if you do that could explain why your toilet stops up periodically?

It's possible that the line from the master bath may have cracked before it ties into the main waste line.

There 2 ways to find out. The least expensive will be to call a plumber and have a TV camera run down the line. That will show you any break AND show you exactly where it is.

The other option would be to start near the toilet and start breaking up the slab until you find the break, IF one exists!!

no we dont send things down the drain we shouldnt. i had a plumber come last week and he ran a snake but didnt have one with a camera to find where the break was. i know there is a break because when we first moved in a camera was sent through and we saw it but didnt think it was a big deal then but obviously we were wrong. i can not find my clean out for anything. i have cleaned out a huge area where i thought it would be with no luck. at this point i am thinking it doesnt exist. is it hard to install one on my own?
