what kind of flexible 1/4" copper tubing for humidifier?

The only kind of 1/4" copper tubing my local home center carries is labeled "refrigeration." From the packaging I can see that the manufacturer also makes it in a "utility" type that's for ice makers and humidifiers but is not allowed by code everywhere, and in the same letter grades as hard copper pipe. The applications listed for the refrigeration tubing do not include water supply. Can I use the refrigeration tubing (is it the same as utility grade but with thicker walls?) or is it not meant for water supply?
