Painting press-board cabinets...

How should I go about painting a set of kitchen cabinets that are made out of "press-board" ?

The paint on them now has been rubbing off over the years, Like in fount of the sink where your clothing rubs it. These are installed in a D/wide Mobile home.

But don't know if painting them will even work or look very good after I do try painting them.

I'm in for a job here I think!

Welcome to the forums!

If you want to salvage the cabinets, I'd sand, dust, coat with a pigmented shellac primer, sand and dust again and then apply a couple of coats of enamel.

If you decide to replace them, measure carefully to make sure the new ones will fit. MH cabinets are often slightly smaller than the standard cabinet.
