cub cadet 1998

have a 16 hp cub cadet lawn tractor has spark and fuel is being pumped to carb but wont start. T put a little fuel down carb and she fires right for a moment and quits.The engine is a briggs OHV twin.the fuel is pumping out the line when disconnected from carb?

Clean the carburetor, polish the float needle well and maybe install a kit depending on carburetor.

Model, type and code numbers from engine would greatly help.
