250CC go kart trans. problems

My son was riding his go kart a few months ago and snapped what appears to be the final shaft of the transmission I have since been unable find a replacement final shaft or transmission for it and he is getting quite frustrated with me. If you can help please feel free to try. I am not sure of the frame manufacturer( it is more a dune buggy than a go kart I think) but the engine is a 250cc CFMOTO. I talked to a machinest the other day but he wanted $600 to make 1.

Thanks for your help.
