if you put put a touch of water on the heads and the cyclinder sides does it boil up and steam if it dont do that i would say its not to hot thats the cheap mans tempeture gauge. and you should be able to hold your finger on the heads for a few seconds without it burning you i am not a expert by any means but this is what i have been told

At idle it should be 3-5 psi so it should be a strong stream.
