Changing A Light Fixture To Plug In

I have a chandelier type light fixture that currently is supposed to be wired directly into the ceiling, however, I would rather change the wiring to plug it into a regular wall outlet. Any ideas on how I can do this?

Thanks!

Put a box extension on your ceiling box, then connect the fixture to your cord and plug. If you don't have a ceiling box, then get a surface mount box and securely mount it to the ceiling.

I wouldn't use a 2-wire lamp cord for this. Use a cord with a ground.
