How to kill stinkhorns

These things are awfull! Bad smell, bugs everywhere, freaking scary looking...

A few of them suddenly showed up next to my back door in the mulch around my patio.

Trying to search the internet only gave me dig them up and throw them away as advice.

Is there any kind of fungicide that works on these? No one seams to know that I can find... Does any fungicide you find in a store work? What I've seen all market towards killing spots on plants and such, not mushrooms.

I would much rather hose the ground down to kill these damn things and make sure they don't come back.

Digging them up just seams pointless because if you miss any part of it, they'll just come back and have to do it endlessly until winter kicks in.

They were probably in the mulch itself and yes it seems removal is the only real way to deal with them.

And the bugs are the method it uses for reproduction so if you don't remove them you'll have more and more. That said it isn't that long before frost where you are.
