GE Refrigerator not cooling when icemaker is turned on?

One day recently I noticed that both my freezer and refrigerator were not cooling on my GE side-by-side refrigerator. I turned off the icemaker in the back of the freezer and everything seemed to be cooling fine on both sides. I just tried turning the icemaker back on and you guessed it, it started not cooling again. So, turned it off again and everything is cooling again. Any ideas on what may be the problem.
