Hard wiring HE260 clarification

I just bought the HE260A and attempted to use the sail switch, without any luck. Its not reliable and I can see the spring fatiguing and messing up the whole works.

Anyway... I have decided to wire it to my furnace (Bryant 383kav042091). From what I have read you wire it to the HUM (24v .5amp) and the C (Con 24v) Both of these are low voltage so I'm assuming I can wire the humidifier directly to these w/o using the provided transformer (??)

I have found the HUM on my furnace circuit board. It is a quick connect right next to where the t-stat is wired.

I also see a Con 24v right next to it. This isn't a speed connect and is where my t-stat is wired.


Are these the correct connections to make?

What do I connect to what (red -> HUM | white -> Con 24v)??

Correct.

I've seen you picture and don't quiet get it. (I'm sure its going to be an "I'm an idiot" as soon as I get clarification)

@ the h-stat. Do I connect the red to one black and the white to the other black?

@ the he260a. Do I connect the red to one black and the white to the other white that is leaving the he260 going to the furnace?
Then the other red leaving the he260 is connected to the other black @ the he260a?

@ the furnace. Do I connect the red to the HUM and the white to the Con 24v?

Basically the red wire is making the connections and the white is maintaining the series?

Correct thinking.

But, Instead of having the White/Com going to the Humidistat, you want the red/hum going to it instead.

Hum is the "hot" side of the system, and you want to break the power before the humidifier.

So my diagram but switch the red and white. @ the furnace run the red -> com and the white -> hum?

Or would it be better to switch all the wires so in my diagram the red would be white and white would be red w/ the red going to the hum and the white going to the com? would this be more useful and appropriate if someone else looked at my wiring?

Correct. Just as shown in my drawing earlier.
