Honey suckle vine leaves going from green to yellow?

We've had a rainy spring season, the honey suckle leaves are usually a nice solid deep green.

Now they've turned a grenish-yellowish color.

The flowers are still yellow and white the way they usually are.

Should I be feeding this plant food, I haven't the last few years.

Hi Michael,

Sounds like yellowing from too much rain. Generally perennial vines are not fertilized as that will cause leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Your honeysuckle sounds like the invasive Japanese honeysuckle. If it's fragrant, then it is the invasive type. I would recommend you replace it with a native such as Lonicera sempervirens. It will bloom on and off from May to hard frost and not be invasive in the environment.

honeysuckle

Thanks for that link-- I didn't realize there was another type that is not so invasive. In terms of fertilizing, I've been giving my vines a 10-10-10. Since it has the same amount of each of the numbers, would that limit flowering? My clematis do fine with it, but the honeysuckle has not flowered much.
