Lightbulb recipe for plug in air freshener

I broke down and bought one of those plug in air fresheners but I don't know how chemically safe they are and besides, I don't like the fragrance. It gives me a headache and doesn't smell nice.

I was hoping to find a recipe for creating a natural scent to refill the bottles with. Is it just as simple as buying mineral oil and adding drops of escents? I could not find any recipes on teh web so posting here.

It's simpler than that - half fill with water and then add the fragrance that you want. Orange peel works well, as does vanilla extract, cinamon, cloves and crushed apple.

Finally, add a dash of vegetable oil which is used to bind the scents and aids rapid water absorption.
