Direct Buy membership cost

Has anyone out there ever heard of Direct Buy (membership only) for buying home furnishings and appliances etc....? I llive in PA. They will not give anyone the cost of the membership or any other info without going to an evening "open house", which does not allow children. I would never be able to attend one since I have 2 kids and no babysitter. (They say husband and wife both have to attend). I am interested in the membership, and guessing it costs in the thousands. Anyone have ANY info???

I appreciate it!! :

You might want to do some internet research to find out what others are saying in other forums. According to some forum posters, it appears that unless you are building or doing a major remodeling job that the $3500-$4500 PLUS the annual membership dues of around $200 per year is not worth it. Many complained that sales tactics seem to be high pressure and they want you to make up your mind right then to join or you lose your chance forever and have to sign a decline membership form. Others report that they are not always the best buy. Shopping appears to be done through catalogs and online if there is not a center near you and shipping may take up to four weeks.

Those that report positively are those who were in the market for purchasing lots of items and saved lots money. Direct Buy reports satisfied customers and a clean record with the Better Business Bureau.

So, one must conclude that perhaps Direct Buy is not for everyone.
