Her's how to Paint, color grout

I just finished laying 250 sq ft of black granite tiles, with black grout.
The grout was black until it dried and then it turned gray!
I was told it could be latency and if I scratched it, the black will come up. It did not.
Instead of removing the grout et redoing the job all over again I decided to paint it.
So I took a small bottle of black "pigment" laser jet printer ink and applied it to the grout.
Three applications later (grout being absorbent) it looks as black as the Nero Abssoluto tiles!
Pigment ink is different then regular ink. It doesn't fade. Doesn't change color.
3-2 ounce for 240 sq ft of tiles.
Amazingly it even costs less then the grout colorant!
I had my ink from a previous printer but it can be bought from any ink re-fillers. Brand names have exorbitant prices.

I thought I would share the idea with you.

Remember it has to be done before sealing the grout!

Id suggest a grout colorant instead, since that is what its made for. Id also be careful about coloring grout with natural stones that could potential absorb colorant and be permanantly stained.
