In order to track the progress of your project from beginning to end, please post all your questions in the same thread. Often, "what to do next" relies on what has been done so far. Starting new threads for each question will only result in a request for a recap of progress to date. This causes posting of repeated information on both sides, delaying your project.
Should you post questions in other forum sub topics relating to your installation, please copy and paste the URL of your thread into your post in this forum. We can then ensure the advice from the other sub forum relates best to a tile installation. This prevents your need to redo steps you may have already taken and avoid unnecessary expenses. This includes, but is not limited to tub framing, shower construction, vapor barriers, sub flooring, waterproofing, etc.
When you post for the first time for your project, please include the sub floor info, plywood, plank subfloor, thickness, how many layers if known, as well as joist size, the unsupported span and the spacing between. For slabs, please post the condition, to include cracks, paint, sealers, existing adhesive residue or floor coverings.
When you enter a forum sub category, only threads active within the last 24 hours will be listed. By logging in, all threads will show up. Whenever a new post is made to your thread, it will bump to the top of the list. You can always post "bump" into your thread if you do not receive a timely response; but those of us who answer these questions do so by volunteering our free time outside of work, family, and personal obligations.
