hi
easyer said than done
firs of all you have to lay the stone on the floor and make up the patern. i usually take a plywood sheet the size of my fireplace and draw it up.
then place the stone on it to see what it looks like.
then when i'm ready you need to have some braces, plywwod strip and some piece of wood for wedge.
Next
the cement
2 part sand 1 part portland mix and i part sealbound. to fast set the cement.
I lay the first row in place then used plywood and brace to hold them to the wall.
YOU DO 1 ROW PER DAY.
next row that where the wedge comes in to hold them in place the applied the plywood strip and brace to hold them in place
or get a macon to do it
cheers
