Converting 4ft chain link fence to 8ft privacy fence

My existing posts are solid as can be, but I live in the panhandle, so hurricanes are an issue. Anyone have any suggestions, should I go with 6ft? What kind of brackets should I use to connect the 2x4s to the metal posts?

Fence

There will be a huge difference in wind resistance between the open meshed chain link fence and a solid six or eight foot privacy fence. I advise you to check local building codes before you proceed. Good luck with your project.

there are several designs of privacy fence that allow some of that air pressure to dissapate.Wirepuller is right on the mark in that being a first consideration. as to your bracket the big box should have a simple u-bolt made for this situation in the hardware or the fence aisle,

And is it legal to build an 8' tall fence where you're at??

Anything over 6' tall where I'm at requires engineering and a building permit. At 6' or less, neither is required.
