Colorwash - paint quality needed

I am going to do a colorwash effect on a small cabinet that gets very little use. The base coat is SWP duration, and I am going to use the SWP latex glaze along with a darker latex paint for the colorwash.

Can I get away with using one of the SWP paint samples for my glaze color? I literally only need about a quarter of a cup, and I hate to have to buy an entire quart of paint for that little bit. I know that for norrmal applications the samples aren't good enough quality, but I wondered if it might work when mixed in the glaze. I could even come back and do a coat of clear poly on top.

Just let me know - I'm curious to get another opinion.

Thanks,
Jenn
