DSC Power 832 and Smoke Detectors

I have a DSC Power 832 system and had to reprogram the system. I had no problem with the alarm portion of the system, but I'm having difficulty with the smoke detectors. the smoke detectors are System Sensors model 2100TS. I have two detectors...one in the kitchen and another in a hallway, the one in the kitchen was removed due to work in that room. The kitchen unit has 2 sets of wires coming into it. I'm assumming one set of wires to the control box and the other to the detector in the hallway (note: the detector in the hallway only has 1 set and a resistor at the end). the wire in the control box is wired for a two wire set...red to Aux+ and black to Prg2. The detector has 5 connectors +,+,-, +led, -led. Question, how do I wire the the smoke detector (which terminals) and second, how do I program the panel to recognize the smoke detectors (note: I have the installers code as I had to reprogram the system)

First, fix your wiring. The resistor must be 2.2k ohm (3 red stripes for the first 3 bands). One leg of the resistor goes on either + terminal (it doesn't matter which). The other leg goes to - with the black wire. The red wire goes on the unused + terminal. The led terminals are not used (in this configuration).

The programming (and no, DSC doesn't make two wire smoke configuration easy):

2 wire smokes must connect to PGM 2, which should be correct if all you did was default the panel.

Assuming that there is currently nothing on PGM1:

Go to program *8 [installer code]

009 19 04

Exit programming.

Thank you for the programming code....sorry I wasn't correct on my description of the wiring...when I referred to one set of wiring at the back detector, I was stating that the was one 2-wire cable coming in with a 2.2 ohm resistor between the red and black lead...

The programming code corrected the issue...Thanks for a great site and quick response

The way you had it will _function_. The way I described is the correct wiring. The intent is to produce a system trouble if the connector is removed from the back of the smoke (it's the manufacturers instructions... and nfpa 72 code (fire alarm code)).
