Ademco Lynxr-EN and Master Code change

Hi I have the Ademco Lynxr-EN, and recently reset the panel to it's default, with Installer Code 4112, and Master Code 1234.

I am pretty comfortable programming it and have already programmed 7 zones/receivers into it using the *56 method.

I am having trouble changing the Master Code. The Ademco manual states you change the Master Code by doing this: Installer Code + [Code Key] + [02] + New 4 Digit Master Code.

It doesn't seem to work, and I think it must be my interpretation of the instructions. The panel doesn't have a dedicated [Code] button, but the [Code] function is accessed by pressing [#] then [8].

So I press: 4112 +[*][8]+[2]+****
I've also tried 4112 + [8] + [2] + ****

What am I doing wrong? I appreciate the help and advice.

The other way to change the Master Code is:
Current Master Code + [Code key] + [02] + New Code + New Code. I tried that also and that doesn't work. Please help!

"8" is the "code" key.

[mastercode] + 8 + 02 + [new code] + [new code again]

The keypads used to be printed with all of the command function names, but they stopped doing that a few years back.

Ah, so it has to be 4-digit Master Code + [8] + [0] + [2] + New Master Code + New Master Code Again.

The manual had [02] and I thought that meant just press the [2] button.
