Happy Face smoke alarm connected to home security system?

I'd like to connect all my smoke alarms to my new security system (Ademco Vista 20p control panel). What sort of smokes do I need to buy and how is it wired?

thx

In general, you cannot easily connect single station/single station interconnected smoke alarms to security panels. A few brands make a relay for the purpose, but for a number of reasons it's a bad idea.

System smoke detectors are a different proposition. Most newer systems will support one zone (8 to 16, depending on system brand) of two wire smokes, or several zones of 4-wire smokes.

I favor the System Sensor brand. The I3 models are simply physically easier to connect.

Otherwise, any of the major brands will work just fine.

well you see in general is a problem with that because you need to use a relay and for the tipe you need, if the security system alows you to mount a fire detector, you need to reed the instalation manual and usualy is in there all you need
