vista 20p (zone doubling)

Hey whats up I was just wondering if any one could give me a little info about zone doubling.

I have 14 zones.

1. will zone doubling be a problem later when I need to service the system?

2. Is it more of hassle than a break?

3. Basically, How hard is doubling compared to not doubling???

any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

You will get a lot of different opinions on this.

Zone doubling is very effective, especially if you only need a few more zones and the configuration will not likely be altered or expanded.

It makes for a much more complicated head end wiring job, and you have to be very careful in keeping your wiring properly identified.

If you are planning on using smoke/fire zones, then I definitely recommend against it.

Personally, I find the cost of a hardwire expander to be worth my while compared to fussing with the doubling resistors, for most circumstances.
