Question Youngstown Kitchen cabinet/sink removal

I live in a circa 1925 building. My Youngstown Kitchen sink/cabinet unit has deteriorated severely and needs to be replaced. Date of purchase and installation is unknown. Serial No. is W-A 651030. We aren't sure of the proper installation method to be able to properly remove it. Many things in this apt. have been 'Mickey Mouse' done. How SHOULD it have been put in? Any insight, thoughts or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!! What a treasure! Too bad it has to go. It was probably installed in 1925. One word of caution, you mentioned the word "apartment". Any modifications you make will have to be approved by the landlord in writing just to keep your nose clean, OK?
The Youngstowns are heavy....I mean HEAVY, since the entire sink top is porcelain cast iron, so it will take a lot of help to lift it. Unhook all your supply lines and drains and lift straight up on the sink. It should come up, as it is probably only held down with a few tension clips in the body. The body will come out with a little less effort. Good luck with it, and let us know how it goes.
