Need help choosing a paint color

I need help choosing a paint color for the kitchen:
It currently has:
Natural maple cabinets
Oak flooring, oak table
White trim
Stainless steel appliances
Black/gray counter top
no back splash

There is a chair rail through the dining part of the kitchen, so I could choose two paint colors. The connecting room has a neutral taupe color that looks like a khaki green in the right light.

Hi kkb337, welcome to the Forums

Sure, I will be glad to help.
Can you post a picture? Color advice depends a lot of the style, light, etc

These are the best pictures I have right now as my camera is broken so I can't take more.

Hi kkb337,

I'd use the chair rail as divider of two shades of the same family

Two suggestions (the references are Sherwin Williams colors)
SW 6064 RETICENCE (above)
SW 6066 SAND TRAP (below)

SW 6078 REALIST BEIGE (above)
SW 6094 SENSATIONAL SAND (below)

I illustrated this last combination in this image

Hope this helps
