HELP....Don't know what to do - Cabinet Damage

I just repainted my bathroom and taped the bath vanity (wood) during painting prep. When I removed the tape from the bottom of the vanity, the blue painters tape REMOVED (in spots) the wood (or wood paper) from the under the vanity baseboard. I could not believe this was not wood but a piece of board with a wood finish on it. Now that it is damaged, how do I fix it? Do I paint it (that would look like heck) or do I have have to remove the piece (is it nailed in?) and replace with a similar piece (where would I find this kind of backer board - wood color must match). Very confused here! ANY help from you professionals would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks team!

Vanity

What species of wood was copied on the coating? You may be able to find some shelf liner paper with the same wood grain and cover the entire board. Is this the toe kick under the front of the vanity?

Yes...this is the toe kick panel under the vanity (kick panel same wood look as the wood vanity). So you are saying to use shelf paper? That will work if I can find the same wood style. That is a good idea. This would be better than paint or stain, right?

I've used dark brown or black paint to dress up toe kicks on rental repaints and paint jobs to spruce a place up for sale. They often get scuffed up and it's a quick easy fix

what you want would not be referred to as shelf paper it would be referred to as contact paper.

shelf paper either has no adhesive or a very light adhesive and is not available in wood tones.

Make sure the surface is clean and if possible try to fill in where the material came off with something as the outline of these areas may show in the paper.
