Staining a Concrete Patch

Next month I'm going to rip up some outdoor carpet that's covering my back patio. I'd like to use a concrete stain to stain the patio once the carpet is up. However, I'm afraid that the carpet has been on the concrete so long there may be parts that are worn or chipped once I take the carpet off.

Will a vinyl concrete patch stain the same color as regular concrete? If not, are there any patch materials that will stain the same color?

Welcome to the forums!

If you are using a solid concrete stain, the color on both old and new will be fairly close. I'd be more concerned with the patches having a different 'texture' which will be easier to spot than any color difference.
