i need to patch two floorboards on my plank hardwood floor, but have been told that if i do so, i will have to refinish the entire floor because the poly. finish (satin-no stain) won't match. The floors are fairly newly finished so, i don't want to do that. Any advice?

Which will look worse, the damaged floor as it now is, or a patch which may not quite match the original surface? You may be surprised how close a match you can get if you practice on some scraps first.:cool:
