I'm about to embark on the first upgrade of my new condo - hardwood floors. I'm on the top level, subfloor is masonite. I will have to have some type of noise suppression, although the condo codes leave plenty of freedom here.

I had one person suggest to glue cork down on the masonite and then glue down the hardwoods on the cork.

Another suggested screwing plywood or OSB to the masonite and then either nailing or gluing to the plywood (OSB).

Couple of questions:
1. Will masonite even hold a screw?
2. Is OSB considered an acceptable subfloor surface?
3. Is there a minimum thickness of plywood / OSB to accept nails?
4. Anyone have any experience with Huskycoat hardwoods (lumberliquidators)? I'm leaning toward their bamboo if I can figure out what I'm doing.
5. If I use cork - what is minimum suggested thickness (I've seen as little as 3mm)?

Great forum!
Thanks in advance.

3/4" plywood underlayment is recommended for hardwood installation. OSB is acceptable.
