How do I stain teak furniture to appear lighter in colour.
I would like it to appear as beech or pine furniture?

Difficult this.
My option would be to clean and degrease, strip any finish completely with paint stripper and wire wool, clean and degrease again.
Then I would use a 2 part wood bleach (available from John Mylands or any good finish manufacturer) and continue to do so untill the desired level of colour has been achieved. Neutralise bleach and after the appropriate time for drying, refinish.
Watch out for the 2 part bleach its nasty stuff and can cause severe burns (part1 being ammonia to open the pores of the wood and part 2 being Hydrogen peroxide concentrated).

Yes, not an easy task on furniture, but do-able
As Mark H said, the pieces must be stripped of any finish, then "bleached"
You'll want to get a quality system from a finish specialist
Try your local paint store, or woodworkers supply
(Not a paint department at a department or big box store)
Take proper care and follow the instructions
I'm sure you'll want to finish with a clear finish to keep them that way
The paint store can recommend a quality finish to go with the system you are using to bleach the wood
