I'm considering bamboo flooring and wonder if anyone has had experience with it? I live in the desert and wonder if it does well in a dry climate. ALSO, while I've read that it's harder than red oak I also heard that the carbonized type is softer-- like walnut. Is this so? Other than the look, does it matter if the bamboo is vertical or horizontal cut? Thanks . . . amz
