I ALSO HAVE A WHRIPOOL S. P. #465 OVEN. WHEN I START THE OVEN, IT CLICKS AND FIRES UP AND STAYS ON FOR MAYBE 7 OR 8 SEC AND THEN GOES OUT. I HAVE REMOVED THE SHIELDS AND CAN SEE THE FLAME COME ON AND THEN QUIT. NOW WE JUST MOVED FROM NM TO MI AND IN NM THE OVEN WORKED FINE. SO ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS

Hello diajon. Welcome to my Gas Appliances forum and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
You did not mention what type of gas is being used. Natural gas or propane. If the stove is using natural gas, no cause for alarm.
Natural Gas pressures remain constant. If the stove is using propane, contact the supplier. The supplier gas pressure may not be correct for the appliance and or the load of that appliance.
All things considered the same and equal, chances are the pilot assembly has gotten some minor dust in it. Dust and or lint clogs the pilots air opening which in turns restricts the pilots flame and the flames size.
If this is the case, try blowing air into the pilot hole and the air intake hole located directly behind the pilots assembly. Doing so will clear out any dust nad or lint. the pilots flame should not have any yellow in it.
The pilots flame must be all blue and in direct contact with the safety element. The safety element is a tiny tube and or element bulb which the pilots flame comes into contact with.
Also be sure all the control selections on the front panel are set correctly, any clock set correctly and any other controls set to manual and not in any preset baking cycle.
Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes and solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair proceedures, and instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.
Retail parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers and stop in at the store. The info will help to determine the possible problem causes.
If you need further assistance, use the REPLY button. By doing so, the additional information you add or questions you may have, will remain within this posting. Using this method also moves the topic back up to the top of the list automatically.
Regards & Good Luck
