If you are looking to strip it then PEEL AWAY I is the easiest way of doing that job. In additionto stripping it in one application the high alkaline level that is left before neutralizing will stop any flash rusting from happening

Another alternative would be to have someone sand blast them. The finishing part is easy. Both paint and primer suitable for your project come in aerosol form which would be the easiest way to go...

thank you for you replys, I appreciate it- in the back of my mind, I was thinking it would be so much easier to find someone? to sand blast, particularly since it's an old set (my grandmothers) which has lots of curley cue rods and leaves, labor intensive to clean up by hand. :) Do you have any suggestions as to where I'd look for someone to do this, any furniture refinsher? thanks, have a great weekend!

Having no idead where you live, here are some suggestions:

The yellow pages
Your local Chamber of Commerce
Paint/hardware/lumber/antique stores (ask about refinishers)

Check with marble or stone masons about sandblasters. Check with a funeral home to see where they get their tombstones from - they have the equipment
