Hi, Tom
Last week it became extremely hot & humid in Boston. However, our dehumidifier which was cranking along beautifully sucking water out of the atmosphere became hot to the touch on top of the unit ( small unit on wheels).
It was working fine. I took off the cover and vacuumed it out.
Still ran hot. Inside room temp was 90 deg. F.
Does it need a new blast of gas? Or was it close to exceeding it's capacity. I mean it was hot in this town! Unbelievable.....

I think you were pushing the edge of its design at 90 degrees. It continued to work without a glitch, right?

It worked fine.
But - I was surprised to learn they eat up as much electricity as a/c's.
Here we were trying to be good, decent enviro-whackos in the
(dry) heat, and all we were doing was creating lots of expensive distilled water for our plants.
Thanks again, Lynn
