I have Split System air conidtioning unit by Carrier. My problem is that unit runs continously and the room does not get cold enough. By continous I mean blower fan and outside fan keeps on running for hours not shutting down.

The temp. diff. is close to unit room is 12.1F or 8.1F.
The temp. diff. farther form the unit is 9.9F or 7.2F.
Temp taken near the vent. Air filter was changed to a new one.

Last winter, I did replace the blower motor because it was defective. The new motor has the same current and rpm specs. but the HP is slightly higher. I think it was 3.5HP to 4HP. Would this have any impact.

The Blower was removed to replace the the vibration rubber mounts. Cleaning was also done on the Blower with a vacuum.

The Relay box was also checked and cleaned with compressed air. (rewired).

Brother took out the flame sensor, nozzle type for cleaning the soot. Took it apart and put it back together. Would this have any impact.

I have yet to do the cleaning at Outside Condenser and the Inside Evop. Would cleaning them solve the problem.

I felt the large hose (foam) near the Evop. unit. it wasn't that cold. The small tube hose was hot but not extremely hot. I felt the Evop. Air Handler box after usage. It was cold but not frozen cold. Two peices of sheet metal bolted on Air Handler, slight leakage, feel air coming out.
I felt the Outside large hose near the Condenser. It wasn't that cold. The small hose was little hot.

What do I need to do? Am I low on refrigerant? Am I high on refrigerant? Am I leaking refrigerant? Is my condenser coil warn out? Is my Evop. coil warn out?

Is there a filter inside the Air Handler? Is there a some kind of Temp. Sensor involved here? Is the filter inside the small tube blocked in the Air Handler?

I haven't found the spec paper for my air conitioning system. But my problem with heating system was solved last winter.

Thanks!

Hey,
Definitely clean the condensor that's where your system gets rid of the heat.
