I have a 78 sears Gt18 with a six speed hi-lo transaxle. whenever i put it in gear and the speed range is in either hi or lo the tractor boggs down and stalls and will not move. it will run however with shifter in neutral and the speed range is in either hi or lo gear. gear oil level is fine. any ideas what my problem may be?

You may have a problem with a safety switch, namely...the seat switch. Does it run with the pedal depressed and in gear (not moving)?
