Any suggestions on getting up carpet tacks? I've been using a screwdriver, hammer and plyers. I've tried a pry bar, but it's too big for the tacks. Please help. MY back is killing me.

Bust it up and pull the nails.
You are talking about tackstrip, right?
Or are you saying they tacked through the carpet with nails?

No, I pulled up the carpet and pad and they're hundreds of tacks or maybe called something else stuck in the floor. They kind of look like the letter U. There has to be a somewhat easy way to get them out.

you're talking about the pad staples, i would guess. The pad edges are usually stapled to a wooden floor. I usually simply hammer them all flat against the floor. The new pad will cover them without any problems.
