I just had the tech come out after A/C quit blowing any air at all. I cleaned filters, gave the coils outside much time to defrost, (3 days), and when tried it again, within a minute started freezing up again. I have a Carrier, that's not even 2 years old.

He said I needed a new Blower Motor, he found Evap. Blower motor :windows" (not sure-trying to read his writing) open. Can anyone explain to me, what might have gone wrong? Should this have happened so quickly (will be 2 years in August).

I just would like some "knowledge" before they start doing things, that I may not be able to afford.

Thanks in advance

I think it probably read " windings open ". That means the windings inside the fan motor are bad-motor needs replaced. If your unit is only 2 years old, it still should be under waranty. Carrier usually has 5 years waranty on parts, 1 year on labor. I would definately ask about the waranty.

But as you know, it is just a machine. Machines break down. Just ask a few people how their new car is doing.
