Huge dilema--one friend promised another that I would mount wallpaper to her newly acquired vertical (groover-style) vinyl vanes. I've never done this before. Sure, I'm familiar with hanging wallpaper, but to walls--not vinyl verticals! We were planning on hanging the wallpaper directly to the vinyl, not mounting the wallpaper to any type of backer first. How can I do this?

Wallpaper or fabric is usually laminated to a backing, slipped into the groover and to prevent it from sliding down a plastic button is inserted through the wallpaper and the groover at the top.

What type of backing? Where can it be obtained or is it something I can make myself?

I believe it's a thin vinyl with a self adhesive backing. The only place that would have it would be a vertical blind manufactuer.
