can anyone tell me how to repair small hole (round) that dog chewed carpet out of. The backing is still intact,carpet gone

You can do a graph if the secondary backing is still intact.
Find a remnant from a left over piece or a closet. Cut the patch to fit with scissors making sure not to cut any face yarns. Carefully pull the secondary backing off. Slightly dampening it helps. Apply latex seam sealer down where your graph will be, especially at the edges, not too much though. You don't want the latex to ooze up around the piece. Then set the piece into the wet latex. Fluff all the face yarns so they are not trapped and weight it with a heavy phonebook and more weights. Let it sit for a day. Trim any high yarns with sharp scissors and your set.
