Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just want to get the carpet and pad out of my house...not reuse it.
Do I need anything more than a razorblade some work gloves?

I appreciate any help/tips.

Thanks,
Chris

i think you'll just have to get started, and see how the carpet's laid. also, what's underneath the carpet??

if you're not looking to salvage it, i'd just pick a corner and getting rolling! you'll figure out the best way once you get started.

He is a helpful tip.

If you have no fingernails or the hap yarn on the carpet is really low and you can't get a grip on it in a corner to start. Use an ice pick and jab it through the carpet in a corner next to the edge and pry up.

But in your case, your not saving anything and it is due for the dump. Cut it into long managable strips.4-5' wide. Roll it up and carry it out.

The pad is usually glued around the perimeter and sometimes at the seams. Use a 6" putty knife and scrape as you peel arond the perimeter first. Then lay one on top of the othe and roll it all up at once, unless that will be to big for you to manage. Recycle the cushion if it is foam. No use filling up the landfill with recyclable stuff. I get 8-10¢ per pound.
