I am very, very new to any home repair. So, go easy on me! I just moved into a new home and the first owners did strange things. They put a shelf on the wall in a bedroom with Glew and Nails!! We pulled the shelf off and the paper on the dry wall came up and left a strip about 2 inches wide with no paper. How to repair before we paint. I don't want to be able to see the repair at all! Remember, i have not done this type of work before, so keep it clear and simple!! MOM

This should be a simple project and is definitely DIY. So don't worry. Buy a small can of spackle from Home Depot or Lowes. Spackle the stripped section and let it dry. Using sand paper sand it down to be at level with the rest of the wall. Ideally seal the section with paint primer. Now you are ready to paint. Good luck
