Ok, I admit it... I tighten the chuck by powering the drill up and holding the grip in place by hand. 50 lashes with a wet noodle for me.
As the manual said could happen, I have damaged the chuck.
So I tried to remove the chuck as described in the manual...but.
1 of the three pieces that form the jaws (prongs that actually hold the bit) will not recess back into the chuck far enough so that I can remove the chuck screw.
Any suggestions out there??
It is a DeWalt 12V cordless.

Yup, tried tapping it...did not work so I hit it a little with a hammer...still did not put it back in place so tried a punch and hammer...still not go...got a little frustrated and banged the end of it on the concrete (see my post on patching concrete)...still did not retract.
If I do not have any success soon I may just take it into a DeWalt recommended repair shop.
