I have a friend that has ask me a question on a Honda model HRB216HXA. I have a bunch of repair manuals, that are a few years old and the only model series I can find are G, GV, GX & GXV. I guess I need to buy some up-to-date manuals! Can anyone tell me if the HRB series uses a mecanical governor? He said that the engine would not rev up like it was supposed to. The only thing that I could think of was trouble with the governor or linkage. Could anyone give me some advice?

As far as I know, all hondas use mechanical governors. I haven't seen one fail yet though. There is likely a problem with the throttle linkage....needing adjustment. Or the throttle shaft in the carb could be stuck.
