My husband just stripped paint from an oak chest of drawers. He then applied two coats of stain. Several days later, he rubbed two coats of lemon oil on the piece. Can I apply a different finish without removing the lemon oil......if so, what finish can I use?

Applying finish over lemon oil will tend to create adhesion problems.
