I am in the planning stage of building an 8'x20' second story deck. The deck has a southern exposure and is also subject to snow and rain. Beneath this deck there is a patio.
I am also looking for a good solid surface to prevent water dripping through onto the porch below. I have looked at vinyl decking, tar undercoats and this is not our first choice. I do like the patterned concrete that you can add colors to.
My plan is to topcoat the deck with 4" of concrete (on top of a poly liner).
Any comments or alternative suggestions?
