Symptoms - hit the power switch either on the TV or the remote and you hear a relay click, the sounds goes off, the red led by the power switch goes out but the video continues. This occurs regardless of video input source, if there's a signal it'll display. I have pulled the power plug to see if that would rest something but no luck.
Any suggestions?

jmbaltz, Their is a possiblity the power relay has arced contacts that won't release. When you push the power button the microcomputer I.C. turns front panel functions off including the sound and LED but, the power supply is still energized keeping the other circuits up and running. Are planning on repairing this television yourself? Toshiba's are also known for electrolytic capacitor problems, their should be one or two over by that relay that may be holding a charge keeping that relay coil energized when microcomputer is in the off state. Older Goldstar televisions(80's) were known this for problem your having.

Fred,
Thanks. I just ordered a factory service manual so I can have a look at the circuits. If it looks like just the power relay I will most likely try a do-it-yourself repair.
